4 Girls Running

We have run together, cried together, laughed together, partied together, dined together, and grown stronger with every stride, and we wouldn't trade any of this for the world. Maybe for some really good chocolate, but that's about it.

Low rise jeans

OK, I have a very stylish friend who tries to help my less-than-stylish self.  She swears that I really need a pair of low-rise jeans from Express.  So, the family was at the mall this weekend to buy a new AMP Dale Jr. NASCAR hat for one of the boys, and I jetted over to Express to check out the jeans.
After getting over my shock at jeans being $60.00, I dutifully handed over my credit card and went out with my purchase.  Here’s my issue, though

LOW RISE JEANS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE!

I feel like I spend all day tugging on them, when I sit down I’m obsessively pulling at the back of my shirt to make sure I don’t have some crazy plumber butt crack thing going on.   And these aren’t even the super low kind that show your butt crack when you are standing up.   Then there’s the whole mental “am I dressing like a 16 year old when I am more likely to be the mother of a 16 year old” problem.  We’ve all seen older women who are dressing like teenagers and laugh at them.  Although I am not yet ready to be an “older woman”,  I’m closer to that side of life than I am to the 16 year olds.  I only wish that someone will have the nerve to tell me when I’ve reached that point.

Apparently this is some great overhaul for my wardrobe – I will need new lower underwear, what tops do you wear with them, belts to fit lower around your hips…..   Maybe this is the economic stimulus package that America needs – make all women buy low rise pants and have to completely revamp your entire closet.

I don’t want to go so far as jeans that come over my belly button, but what about moderation – say an inch below my belly button can be called “low rise” (especially for those of us who are NOT 16 anymore).   Anyone got those????
